    Do ya really love coffee?

Then check out Weber coffee related products. And it's a different Weber. I love gadgets and the Bird looks great, but at that price, I'll just look.

Whoa! The Bird - $369 for what looks like a French press, but with a twist dial on top? Wowsa! I will stick with my Bodum. And for a travel French press, I have a Bodum stainless mug with integrated French press... I guarantee I paid a lot less than $150 for it when I got it 20 years ago.

Looks nice, great even. But pricy.

Wow! The espresso filter baskets are $85 a pop!!! Ha!

I got a new espresso machine in November and with it, a few new gadgets. Checking out this Weber site was fun but man are they proud of their products with those prices!

I drink coffee 365 days a year. My Cuisinart K-cup machine brews a perfect cup every time I push the BREW button. Life is good. 😁

Count me out. I’d rapidly grow tired of answering the question of why I have a portable rocket launcher on my counter. Does EG-1 stand for Electronic Grenade Launcher?

Kirkland coffee in a metal can never looked so good.

I have a Breville coffee maker that is way over priced. My Dad got it for his wife and she couldn't "figure it out" (Not shocking, hahaha) so I asked if I could have it since it was just sitting there. It looks nice, does it make better coffee that one the is a 1/4 of the price? I doubt it. The automatic grind feature is nice though......I suppose that is some of the cost. It also has a Yeti style pot, but I think that thing was like $300 or something insane like that.

Regarding the SG-1 price, I have never seen a funeral hearse pulling a trailer, so you can't take it with you.

Here are several coffees that are worthy of the SG-1. As always, YMMV.

If I had to guess, I'd say Panhead John.

This makes my double metal filter plus paper filter Espro French press look down right cheap and basic.

I will stick with my current snobby way of making the coffee I get for free from my coffee shop job. Though I am curious if anyone here gets a critical form of MCS and purchases one of these!

I’d first get my toe wet with the Bosch 800 Series Personal AI Barista. Like espresso? Then get this brewer..

I buy the cheapest Mr. Coffee at the store, and when it gets gross, I get a new one. Although, I have been on the lookout for a good old fashioned french drip pot not to be confused with a french press.

When I looked at the Weber coffee website, I thought the prices were stated in some foreign currency. I looked again and apparently the prices are actually US dollars. In a word, this stuff is insane.

I have a wonderful Baratza grinder that cost $250 which I thought was a lot. It makes the best coffee I have ever had in my life. So, what would a Weber EG-1 for $4,595 do? Nothing, I suspect but I will never really know as I will never see one and nobody I know will ever see one.

Any bets on how long this Weber coffee site will be up? Is it just a money laundering operation? I have seen crazy business ventures before that turned out to be just a money laundering deal.

I love my Baratza Virtuoso +. I have had it for about 3 years. Very adjustable and makes perfect grind for my drip coffee. Very sturdy and solid. I have given several as gifts. Loved by all. Not sure what you mean by retention.

Thanks for the reply briano52 - retention, how much coffee is held back in the grinder? I guess if you aren’t doing single dosing by weight perhaps you don’t notice? I weigh my beans for espresso, so I’m grinding about 21g each time. But again, if you are doing higher volume brew with drip, you may not notice.

The Baratza Virtuoso + has a timer function and a big bean hopper. You set the amount of beans to be ground by time. The amount you grind then goes into a basket. I use mine for grinding beans for a drip machine. I just grind the amount I need for one brew session so the beans are always freshly ground when I use them. Do I love coffee? You bet! But to justify spending anywhere near this much on a coffee pot or grinder I’d need to be right behind Elon Musk on the Forbes list. I think I’d have an easier time justifying a Kalamazoo grill.
