I've only been to #11, Big Bob Gibson with family/friends. I love their habanero sauce! We ordered/shared a variety of items and the wings were the favorite.

I can once again vouch for Skylight Inn. We were there today for their 70th anniversary.

How do they know those are the best 25? I never heard of them coming to visit one of our local joints... Point is... I think it is impossible to know unless one person visits ALL Q joints!

KC Joe's in Olathe, KS is definitely by far my favorite local joint
        BUT!
K&M in Spring Hill Kansas comes in a close second.
My own backyard is in third for local BBQ.

Hey Mr. Bones haven't been there yet but it might be in the plan for this evening. I'm always looking, and my standards are high.
Edit--make that next week--looks like they are on vacation.

Sorry new member so late to this conversation and like others have been to several of this places from St. Louis to the joint down in MS. Actually lived two blocks from Central in Memphis for 10 years before moving back to San Diego. Once a place gets big it’s tough to keep the quality. Traveling a lot for work I can honestly say that some of the best I have ever had is at a side road gas station. See an old man with a 55 gallon drum on the side of an old station and you better stop!

I'm with Steve R the only BBQ place I've ate at on this list is Moonlite BBQ. I live about 20 miles from there and it's been at least 3 years since I have eat there. If that tells ya anything. Not impressed. These folks that wright this up, may not know what good BBQ is.

These are opinions of the writers and like you say may not know what good bbq is. I've thought the same thing about competition judges. It could be the only bbq they know of came from a crock pot. Who's to know?

Been to Joes and that was fantastic. Looks like I’ve got a lot of ground to make up.
