Phat Jack's is good... but very overpriced. Their burnt ends are the best I've ever had... but you do have to get there early in the afternoon to get any. They're also closed to go to competitions on the weekends usually, so it's not very convenient for most folks. Anything good up in Omaha?

* - Favorite Beer - the cold one in my hand (craft beers of all flavors; haven't had a blue yummy in over 6 years) my tastes change with the season so it is difficult to name just a couple. However, I will occasionally have a vanilla porter float in the summer (Empyrean Vanilla Porter w/a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream) as I usually drink stouts & porters in the colder months, pale ales & IPAs in the warmer months. I have to add Not Your Father's Root Beer to beers I use for floats.
* - Booze - I don't really have a favorite, but lean towards single malt Scotch & Irish whiskey
* - Wines - Reds: mainly the heavy stuff mixed in with the occasional pinot noir ( I have yet to meet a malbec I didn't like); Whites: German & Nebraska (hey, I have to support the home team)
* - Favorite Spice outlets - Volcanic Peppers - Bellevue, NE
* - Current butchers: Cure - Ft. Calhoun
Grew up in Lex and now residing in Papillion. I have yet to find a BBQ joint in the Omaha area that keeps calling my name. My wife fancies Parker's Smokehouse just west of Ashland. Hartland isn't bad, but they don't make their own ice tea (Pepsi BIB) so I don't go over there too often. My favorite is Big Horn Mountain on 13th Street & Vinton just north of I-80. They changed hands a few years ago and the quality has gone down a little bit, but not enough to keep me away. I like their hot BBQ sauce and usually take home an extra pint. I am hoping we can check out the BBQ joints in Gretna this winter.

Howdy! Another from the Husker State here! Hope to get to know some of you better in the future!
I've had Parker's Smokehouse, and find it to be about average at best... I do however enjoy Phat Jacks... I enjoy the rib tips, as well as the brisket... I've also hit the We'll Smoke You BBQ, and thought it was decent as well...
I've got to say, I generally prefer BBQ of the Homemade variety! 3/4 of the fun and enjoyment is the prep, and the cook itself!
Keep on Smokin' Everyone!
