    Oh boy $$$$

My wife decided to arrange a lunch tomorrow with my daughter and family 5 plus us. Ages 17, 14 and 8, boys. Daugter and husband. Now I'm thrilled to spend the time. The restaurant is unique as it a train themed experience. It's been a while but our experience there, environment and food was positive. Here's the link to restaurant.

Great selection and confident nothing will disappoint. But check the prices. To provide a grounding on what I expect. 2 summers ago we all went to Cape Cod. Dinner one night. My S.I.L had a 2 chicken lobsters each about a pound and sea scallops. The 2 older boys has steaks and othe stuff. I had lobster Mac and Cheese. It was about a $400 tab.

The boys are 2 years older and their appetite has grown proportionally. It's going to be a doozy. But worth it as I keep trying to convince myself.

Small lobster. I didn't make the term. Usually 1#. Maybe a New England thing. Because they're small, very tender. You get to a 2 ro 3 #'er they could be tougher. Forget about anything larger. A man's lobster. Just be prepared to have a chain saw close by.

That place looks cool and a nice menu too. It's family what the heck. We took the kids and grand kids out the other month while they were back for a grandsons wedding. Ted' s Montana Grill outside of Denver. You don't want to know$$. Had the same group years ago out for lunch in Breckenridge, lunch wasn't bad but the server stole my credit card number as there was instantly about $1200.worth of ski gear charged. Enjoy your day with the family.

To be honest, the prices don't seem that out of line to me. Enjoy!

Certainly not out of line with today's prices. We'll all enjoy the time together. Family time has no price tag.🙂 And the restaurant is unique.

Just think about the piece of meat you could afford if you stayed home and cooked.

Yeah, a couple of those Wagyu ribeye roasts that Mosca posted last month.

Sometimes having the family all together is worth the $$. Plus it's fun to see kids eat, enjoying food they don't get every day. Once the bill is paid and the lunch is over, you'll still have great memories to savor.

And you can't take it with you! I keep trying to tell a couple of my buddies that.

      Looks like fun!

And, that’s what stuff costs now, unfortunately. We’ve cut way back on our dining out. Fast food is unsustainable. Pizza and hoagies are now sometime to think about rather than a reflex. We used to have breakfast once a week, now it’s once a month, and we used to eat out once a week and now it’s once every few months.

Thank you! For making me feel better about letting our daughter use my card to order 12 pairs of identical Christmas pajamas. 8 adults, 4 kids, $439.

Those prices don't look too bad to me but I can see where a group can run up a big bill quickly. I'm glad the burgers are certified, would hate to get a burger that isn't really a burger.

Every time someone posts a menu I think to the time me and Panhead John went to the original Ninfa's in Houston. Those prices were almost twice what The Steaming Tender's prices are. For TexMex! Generally one of the cheaper meals we can buy around here.

A great meal for all and fun time. Cost was less than I expected at $250ish. I had their Mac and Cheese and it didn't disappoint. And I have either dinner or tomorrow's lunch. Here's pictures. The last is a train goin by. It's a blur but I think you'll get the idea.
1st picture the person standing is a server. They all wear overalls. choo choo.

I agree with all that's been said. Once the money is spent you don't even know it's gone but you had a nice time with family. Wish I had this attitude when my kids were younger. Prices don't look bad to me. An 8 oz filet for $45 is about the same as the restaurants in my neck of the woods, a little north of Philly. I had lunch with a friend a couple of months ago. We both had the French onion soup at $12. I don't recall what I had for the meal but it wasn't anything upscale but the meal cost each of us $45. A good meal but about double what I want to pay for lunch.

Yes, he was a Berner. We lost him to a cancer two years ago now and we still miss him terribly. What a wonderful companion. We have a Newfie now and we love her, she is a sweet heart, still our Berner has a special place in our heart.
