Either one, but you have to use it by the end of January, it expires then. You’ll need to go into the store, customer service, and get your card before you can use it…I think.

I got a member card to shop in the store, but the gift card you can use online or in the store. You just need to print it or save it on your phone, so they can scan the bar code. As long as you have the membership number, you can shop online, but I find that there are only certain things available online and the site links will send you to brand sites for some items. I don't find the web site handy.Last edited by Carolyn; December 16, 2024, 10:57 PM.

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
We were members off and on for decades, but not since they got rid of propane. My wife was the primary member, and I was an add-on. Wonder if I bought this $20 membership with me as the primary, if I could get back into Costco cheap for a year... I know it won't work if I try to renew her for $20.
I was checking out at Sam's Club the other day.... and the screen at the register thanked me for being a 33 year member! Dang I am old!

Jim, it says that if you’ve not been a member for at least 18 months, you or her can get the deal.
-
Panhead John good to know. I don't think it has been quite that long. I think it is right at 12 months - the membership ran out last December, and I had found out that they were getting rid of their propane filling station, and opted not to renew.

BTW, the Costco I go to in Southlake TX now has 2 employees at the entrance with membership card scanners that you must pass through to gain access to the store. I still prefer Costco to the much closer Sam's Club.

Lynn Dollar My Sam's Club has been checking cards with a scanner as well, which they didn't do for years. I think its due to theft - I figure folks who actually pay for an active membership are not coming in to shoplift...
-
Steve R. if you have your receipt or the Scan and Go barcode facing up, the new exit system at Sam's actually COUNTS the stuff in your cart and sees your receipt barcode, and tells the person at the exit you are good to go. If you are not, THEN the person at the exit has to get involved and scan your receipt, then scan the 3 random items.

jfmorris , I think that's what happened then, and I'm a fan of this. I definitely had the barcode up on my phone and the phone was in my hand, probably facing up. Between this, the toll road cameras and the Flock cameras at the major intersections in my town, there's nowhere to hide.
