I have some questions that will seem elementary to most but paprika is a complete unknown to me. Be it right or wrong my way of saving recipes is to take a picture of them and save it in my photos. I’ve made quite a mess of the my recipes. They’re there but it takes a while to find them. Will paprika take the recipe from a photo and save it? I started to just print them all but there are so many colors in them that I would have used a bunch of ink cartridges. I need a little guidance please. If it makes a difference I use an IPad.
Preach sister fzxdoc, preach. I'm an organizer freak and Paprika kicked my recipe game to heights unknown to man. Don't walk but run to this sale. You will be glad that you did, I guarantee !!!!!!
Yep, I got it a month or six weeks ago. Tried few years ago, but the Android version wasn't decent at that time. I got it when there was a conversation here, and asked a few questions, and I am totally sold. Yes, I've added printed recipes I had in notebooks, per Kathryn's tips, also those in cookbooks I use a lot. It has changed everything for me. I rarely love software or programs, but I love this one. I use www.EatYourBooks for finding things in my cookbooks, but Paprika for everything else.

I've noticed that the recipe management app Paprika has a pretty good following here. Historically, I've used Microsoft OneNote to keep track of my recipes and notes:
My scheme has worked decently well, although sometimes I wonder if a dedicated app would work better. Copying recipes into OneNote always requires me to
Paprika is sooo easy to use, even for the technically challenged people, like myself. I got it about a year ago and love it! There’s nothing better out there IMO. It’s such a great way to save your recipes and makes it easy to find them later.
at our house we have 2 binders that are designed for recipes full of stuff from mom and grandma and so on. We have a decorative wicker basket full of printed out recipes or copied from friends or what have you. Heck, there's 3 or 4 recipes in there written on the back of an envelope. Then we have this Simply Delicious thing I subscribed to for a few years. And all the recipes I have in Evernote. And about 50 cookbooks. And now Paprika lol

Wow.
I used to hoard clipped recipes in a manila folder. I finally went through it and ditched recipes I knew I would never make. At least with digital you don't have to bother.
Carolyn and Larry, I'm up to 4,030 recipes as of this morning. It's a way to hoard without guilt. I use Paprika and its Search function every single day for recipes for the day, week, entertaining, etc. So I don't feel bad using that much iPhone storage. So far.
Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.

It won’t translate a recipe into a Paprika file, but you can save photos as recipes.
In this example, there are two photos. I would simply click on the first photo for ingredients, then swipe left for the next photo that has the instructions.
But downloading them by going to the original website is probably easier than copy/pasting the photo, especially on an iPad.
I was able to do a cut and paste into Paprika from an image of a typed recipe I have. I was surprised it worked. I tried another from a web site, but some of the recipe didn't copy correctly, possibly because there were bullet points. Not sure. Other recipes I have copied into Paprika without issue.

I use it mostly on my iPad. But look at it while shopping on my phone for ingredients or ideas. And have also downloaded PC version in case I’m searching for recipes while working. 😁
Buy it. Buy it now. I’ve been using it for a few years now and it’s hands down the best recipe organizer I’ve ever used!
The ability to download recipes from the internet (just drop in the URL and it cuts the “story” and gives you ingredients and directions) is a big time saver.
Since I started using it I’ve made more new recipes than I did in my decades of cooking pre-Paprika, simply because it’s so easy to find and store new recipes.
LSG Adjustable Grill/Smoker, MAK Pellet Grill, Large BGE with Several Attachments from the Ceramic Grill Store, Weber Genesis E335 Gasser, Cast Iron Pans & Griddle, Grill Grates, Mostly Thermoworks Thermometers, Anova SV Stick, BBQ Guru Controller and Fan
I think I found the answers to my questions by browsing their website. The sale price is 40% off the regular price, which means you can get the desktop version for your OS and the version for your smart cell phone for only $3 more than the full price for just one.
According to the website you sent us to, the current version is 3, but they offer the option to download version 1. Do you know why that is?
Do the recipes save to your own device or just on their server?
Is there an annual subscription requirement?
I have MasterCook and like it, but Paprika seems to be better. Can I convert MaterCook files to Paprika?
No annual fee, at least the version I have Was a one time fee. And it’s a cloud, as I can access the recipes on my phone and iPad, which I like. I find recipes on both the iPad and phone from instagram at times, and like to be able to save.
When I went to the Google store to buy the Android version, after I bought the Windows version, it only charged me $2.99. I should mention that I got to the Google store by clicking the link that Paprika gave me after I completed my purchase of the Windows version.
