    Got an Anova

Similar to SmokeyGator's method from his post a little while back, I got an Anova:

I piggybacked mine onto the better half's Herbalife order. She wondered why the box was so big when it came; I might have mentioned something about it being a weight management tool (not my best idea).

Anyway, after I healed up from the things she threw at me that I couldn't avoid, I did my first cook with it. 1" ribeyes from Don's Meat Shop in Hixson, TN (shameless plug, maybe I'll get some discounts), 2 hours at 135, seared in a cast iron skillet while basting with butter, perfect. I meant to take pictures, but they disappeared before I could find the camera. Glad I pulled the trigger.

I agree with Jerod Creme Brulee is the best when sous vide! Wait until you do a longer cook with a "tough" cut of meat then you'll see the Anova shine

It's a shame what Chevy did to the Nova name in the mid/late 80s. At least they kept the Monte Carlo an actual sports car in those years.

I like your thought process. Wife just asked me to order more childproof locks since grandson coming to visit tomorrow. Now childproof locks and a new socket wrench set on the way.

Been trying something similar to this for many years. "But honey, with the money we saved by not buying a Lear jet, we can finally afford that twin Cessna I've always wanted". Hasn't worked yet ... but there's always hope ...

If you have a Weber Kettle, you need the Slow 'N' Sear

The Slow 'N' Sear turns your grill into a first class smoker and also creates an extremely hot sear zone you can use to create steakhouse steaks.

The Good-One Is A Superb Grill And A Superb Smoker All In One

            Placeholder

The Good-One Open Range is dramatically different from a traditional offset smoker. By placing the heat source behind and under the smokebox instead of off to the side, Open Range produces even temperature from left to right, something almost impossible to achieve with a standard barrel shaped offset.

Griddle And Deep Fryer In One

            Placeholder

The flat top does the burgers and the fryer does the fries. Use the griddle for bacon, eggs, and home fries. Or pancakes, fajitas, grilled cheese, you name it. Why stink up the house deep frying and spatter all over? Do your fried chicken and calamari outside. Blackstone's Rangetop Combo With Deep Fryer does it all!

The Pit Barrel Cooker May Be Too Easy
