        I've been running my crap thermo probes through the top vent with little problem. Probably going to continue to do so with the Fireboard probes. I'd consider running through the bottom, but that'd be even more of a pain when trying to close it off completely... however, it would pretty much guarantee the "only open the bottom vent a crack" process doesn't shut it down too far.
