For those that find this thread looking for information on the cajun bandit rotisserie: I have the cajun bandit rotisserie for my 22" weber kettleand have been very happy with it. It sits on the edge of the kettle great and the kettle lid sits well too. There are naturally some holes (for the rod to go through) so you aren't going to have a perfect no air flow seal. But I can't think of a time I would use the rotisserie to do a low and slow cook so having the extra air flow isn't an issue.

Seems late to get in on this, since you solved it with a $50 used kettle, but I also have heard nothing but good things about the Cajun Bandit equipment.

I have the Weber branded 22" rotisserie, and the main thing I can recommend is to find a set of four 4 pronged rotisserie forks to replace the two 2 pronged forks that come with it. That allows you to cook two chickens, at once, and the 4 prongs allow you to be more sure of "hitting" the meat and locking things down.

I did a rotisserie turkey (19 pounds!) for Thanksgiving, on the 22" kettle, just banking the coals to one side of the charcoal grate, and putting a drip pan on the other side. One of the best turkeys ever, according to my family, and I've been smoking them for 30 years.
