I purchased these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
1/4" grommets from Amazon I have put them in my WSM and kettle and can run 2 probes from my maverick et733 through them. They also come in 3/8" 1/2" and 3/4" I love them
They make 'blind' versions of these, meaning that there is no hole in the middle, so you can push the probes through and they have no gaps. Maybe that's what you have?
Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

For the first time in a long time I have no kettles as I gave them all away.

Welcome to The Pit! For a couple of years a 1/2" hole has worked great for me in my kettles. I was a little slow to decide to drill a hole in one, but when I had no problems controlling temps, I drilled the other kettles.
I want to drill a hole in my Napoleon gasser and found Trager grommets are about 3/4" diameter so I got one of those. Will give it a go in spring but I'm a little nervous about drilling through the side as it is cast aluminum (I think).
I made a probe hole for my pk360 so I didn’t have to futz with cables through the lid. Cast aluminum is easy it’s soft enough to make a nice clean neat hole with s standard style bit.
Hi there Polarbear 777,
I e-mailed the company just the other day about them adding a small hole as you installed on your PK360. They replied that they had not considered it.
Could you please share with me where you drilled this hole on yours? If you have a picture to share, I would love to see it. Thank you for your post!
