    S'NS First Cook

    Just about 6 hrs in, 4 pound pork collar. I just opened up and took a peek. A lot of fuel left, I swept and rearranged the coals and added more. The temp dropped to 207. I will post my cooking log later. I'm stuck in the Stall now.

      Here it is after 6 hrs, one hour ago. Got my temp up to 273 now, time to close the vents down a little. Meat temp is at 163. Its is very "probe tender".

        Here is the cooking log as of now. I want to eat sometime in the next several hours so I opened the top vents and cranked the heat to push through the stall.

                This was a SRF Pork Collar (Berkshire). Honestly, kind of fatty and greasy. From now on I'll stick with a regular butt and save the money.
                But, I'll say the SNS is amazing....I love it!!

                  Thanks for the pics and the log. We have this on our list of Summer cooks. The log will help since I'm used to using a Smokenator - not so much my SNS.
