Ya know, now that you mention it mine arrived with a scratch in it too. As luck would have it my scratch just happened to spell out Slow 'N Sear. What are the odds?
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

David Parrish I was kidding. Mine came in just fine. I just wanted to find a way to say that I am terrified of the owner since Huskee mentioned getting on the owner's case in a post up-thread.
Mine arrived in mint condition. I am excited to use it - hopefully this weekend.
Sorry. I thought by including the win ;-) you'd recognize it as a joke. Just to be sure I went into the garage after typing that post to look it over - it's in great shape and I intend to expose it to a lot of heat early and often!

Dang it, I must have got one of those cheap China knockoffs, mine was supposed to be a special edition and it just came in a plain cardboard box with a piece of paper for starting your first fire!
Although if it is they did a damn Fine job!
I Never even THOUGHT of looking for a trade mark of authenticity. #Mrobvius

Powersmoke_80 if it makes you feel any better your SnS cost us almost twice as much to make as the latest production run. They were made by a local job shop that deals with small volume batches and were very labor intensive to make. Each one was hand etched by the company owner with batch numbers 1 through 100, and you got my John Hancock on a certificate showing yours was one of the first 100 made for retail
So you and 97 other folks like you had faith in me and took the plunge before anyone else, and I thank you for that. I say 97 others because we only sold 98 of them. I kept #1 and my wife has #2. fuzzydaddy has the privilege of owning #3 and being are very first customer!
She put most of the etchings on the inner wall of the charcoal basket, but she wasn't 100% consistent with that. It's a faint etching so it's easy to miss if you're not looking for it. If you clean it off it'll show itself.
David Parrish , I retrieved my SnS and gave the charcoal tray a good scrubbing, and Lo and behold, with some extra light, I found the etching! I don't recall seeing it before. Really cool!
I know I did save my certificate.
Cookers:
Large Big Green Egg with a Ceramic Grill Store rack system, and the SnS setup.
Weber Genesis SA-E-330 LP INDIGO with SS Grates, Weber Crafted frame kit, baking stone, griddle (2/3), all from Ace Hardware.
For the first time in a long time I have no kettles as I gave them all away.
Everything Else:
SnS #3 with certificate. I was their first customer.
Sous Vide equipment.
SnS and Thermoworks instant read and leave-in thermometers.
Grill Grates for BGE.
Kingsford Blue Bag, Weber lighter cubes, Weber charcoal chimneys.
Rubs with salt: Meat Church Holy Cow.
Rubs without salt: Home-mixed versions of previously sold SnS Grills Rocky's Rub and Not Just for Beef using their recipe. SPOG.
Spices: Lots of 'em.
After scrubbing my SnS up I found it!
Its Authentic!
And as a side note a drywall fine sanding sponge works awesome in a wash tub of water for cleaning it up kind of like wet sanding the water keeps the sponge clean without scratching.
Also my new shirt #Hadtohavit!
