It takes a big man to admit to doing exactly the same thing I have done before! The way I explain it: I had matching digits before I cut the first finger so I decided to cut the other.

Have a good friend that cut himself on a table saw years ago. Blade went right between his pointer and his middle finger on his left hand. SERIOUS cut.
After healing up for 6 months he got back out to his shop and had to demonstrate to a group of friends exactly how it happened.
Yep--he managed to saw through the right hand in almost the exact same spot.
His shop equipment was sold by his wife while he was in hospital recovering from the second saw job.
Seriously bad mojo there. This was an intelligent good with his hands person.I'm thinking that table saw homed an evil spirit.

IF it wouldn't hijack this thread beyond redemption I would tell the story of another bud and his blown off thumb. BUT--that one is so strange it probably does belong in the joke section. For him it was pretty serious business though.

Oh, go ahead and hijack it. We’re here for the fun, not for posterity.

I've cut the end of my finger 3 out of 5 times. Just a little cut but enough to bleed and hurt like hell.

I used to sharpen knives for friends. They always seem to perform bloodletting within minutes after I give it to them so I don’t anymore.

i guess everyone wants to "test" the edge. But why on fingers?

Ouch, though I'm not surprised you made the worse cut while cleaning it. I've cut myself multiple times while cleaning a knife.
At least you have the excuse of cutting it on a sharp knife. The worst scar on my thumb is from a wayward putty knife (yes, putty knife).
