My fairly new I Grill will only work in warm conditions. It stops working even in 40° F weather. Bring it inside, works fine. Got it for a gift so no reciept. IGrill says I am SOL Anyone else with the same trouble?

That's pretty lame. Is it the original iGrill, or the iGrill2 (or the Mini)? It doesn't get below 40F here very often, so I haven't noticed an issue with my (fairly old) iGrill -- or at least that issue. My big issue with it is that it doesn't work well with Android, so I need to dedicate an iPhone to the cause if I want uninterrupted connectivity.

I'd use the Mavs and wait for warmer weather for the iGrill device. I recently bought the Mav ET-733 and have had no problems with them; the electronics work well in cold weather!
I called Igrill again. All I have to do is pay the difference between the Igrill2 and the original,($20.00) and they will send me a new one. So I am happy about that. But out of stock until march. I can wait though.

I put my Mavs in a wool sock and set in on the smoker lid. It keeps it nice and toasty. I often smoke in temps that are below 0 F. This solves the problem for me.
I don't put mine in a wool sock, but like Spinaker I will keep mine close to heat. Usually hanging beside the grill. I have Mavericks though so it's not directly relatable.

I've used my iGrill2 in 20 degree weather and it's been fine, although the non-connected ports start registering odd temps sometimes. I've been really happy with it so far, and it absolutely saved me from cooking the life out of a nice roast beef. I usually keep it close to the grill, but not so close that it makes a huge difference. Wool sock sounds like a great idea.
I have an original iGrill that I hang from my Weber Kettle and I've never had a problem....although I think its starting to go because the signal cuts out every so often.

My Mavericks brave the cold nekkid. I have a brisket on right now at -24 C and the transmitter is out in the open. Sure the display doesn't show but the receiver picks it up just fine!
