Nice! Just took the plunge and purchased one of these bad boys myself. Saturday can't get here quick enough!

I used mine last night for my 1st over night cook in a long time! Ran into a quick problem I wasn't getting any alerts when the pit dropped down to much!? (yes I'm using that evil off set lol) So I emailed the company at 1 am, not expecting a reply until today sometime. Well I got a reply in 5 min!! ask if I had set up the wifi? Well of course I did...Didnt I? Turns out nope so Ted sent me the instruction on how to do it. Boom I was getting the alerts!! Great Customer service. I did a dual cooker cook. Started out on the Evil Offset for 4 hours of wood smoke. Then switched to the Faux Kamado (and its wonderful set and forget temp control) In a separate post I'll post the 2 wildly different graphs you will see why I love/hate that off set especially when the alerts aren't being sent (my falut I know!) Gonna really like this thing I can tell!!!

Great news! Glad you got the alerts working. I really abused my Fireboard on Wednesday. Did two grills with 5 different meats over the course of the day and got a huge rainstorm to boot (Fireboard in ziplock).

Wow kmhfive I feel like an underachiever I only did 2 meats (full packer and a pastrami) on the same 2 smokers (moved them both from 1 to the other) I'll remember the ziplock idea I had mine under a overturned flower pot (luckily didn't need it)

It's nice to have a day off. Learned quite a bit on that cook!

The sad part is I don't even want the Meater anymore. Since I gave my money away to them a couple of years ago (I think), I've picked up the Fireboard & Smoke thermometers and they are serving me well. I wish I could cancel my Meater order & get a refund.

I almost got in on the Meater but decided to wait. I wondered how far the signal would be able to travel from that tiny radio inside a iron enclosed smoker? so was waiting on actual reviews. hopefully they will finish their obligations.

My biggest complaint is that you cannot set alarms... I already have my phone so I can check the graph every 3 minutes... why not allow me to set an alarm?? So, last night, during the pork butt cook, we had a thunderstorm roll through and knock out the GFI circuit that my RecTec is on... I didn't know for about 15 minutes. The remainder of the night, the "Thermoworks Smoke" watched for any alarm conditions, and the Fireboard kept generating graphs.

It was cool (and I'll post a pic if I can remember) to see the ambient temp drop, but the meat continue to climb. The ambient never got below 160ish, and it wasn't for long anyway, but cool to "see" and not have to _hope_

shush, kmhfive, Another "neat" addition to Your FireBoards is Amazon Echo Dot (Alexa) You can ask for the FireBoard Temps from Across the Room and ALEXA will Verbally Tell You the Current Temps For Active Probes by Number! Kind of Neat, IMHOP!

Danjohnston949 Technically, both Ambient and pit dropped due to the storm/power outage, but yes, I meant Pit Temp. I never thought of using one probe for ambient. I will do that on my next cook! I also have Alexa, I enabled the 'Joule' skill, I guess I need to add the fireboard one now. Thanks!

you can set up multiple devices to receive the alerts, as well. I have the alerts go to my phone, Watch & a tablet. all go off a little different from each other. Loud enough to wake me up!

Using echo in conjunction with the fireboard is pretty cool. I've already used it to check on pit temp a couple times while I had my hands full getting the meat ready for the grill.
