I actually bought mine several years ago. They are one of the best diagnostic tools around for checking an engine over quickly. You can know the temp of the radiator, the thermostat housing, or an exhaust pipe when you suspect a stopped up cat converter. They really shine when looking for a weak or completely misfiring cylinder. Just check the exhaust where each cylinder goes into the exhaust manifold. The weak or missing one will be noticeably cooler than the rest. It saves a ton of time over hooking up the engine scope.

Wow! I would never would think of using it to diagnose a car engine. If I can ever figure out how open the dang latch on the hood and if you figure that out, the hood keeps hitting me when it drops down. I wish there was a way to keep it up. It hurts.

I got one. It has the hexagon pattern lasers. I use it to check my AC. I use it for the vehicles. I use it for cooking. I use it to check my windows for AC leaks. It is awesome!

These things are cool. I remember when I first saw someone using one. I didn't understand the technology/sensing behind it and was absolutely floored that you could tell the temperature of something from quite a long distance away!
