The new cutting boards have landed

I ordered these from Teak Haus last week and I can't wait to cut up a Big Hunk O'Meat. The large board is 18" × 24" × 1.5" and weighs about 15lbs. I did a pour test, and the juice grooves hold a full cup of liquid, cwhich O think is pretty decent. My 15" Cutco knife is there for scale. The serving platter and oil were N/C on promo. This is the first big board I've bought, and I'm sooo excited!

I sold cutco the summer before my freshman year of college. That knife is 35 years old from my sales kit! I've still got most of my sales kit knives amd and they're still going strong.

I made Cutco for two summers while I went to college. 1992 & 1993. I lived on the street (Charles) right across from the plant for the first 22 years of my existence.

That board does look fantastic! And it certainly is going to stay put and not wander around!

Nice purchase! I have a teak board like that--bought it through a special promo by Cook's Illustrated back in the day. It's heavy and solid--a great cutting surface. You're going to love using it. I use food grade mineral oil on mine.

How cool that you got a serving platter and conditioning oil gratis. What a deal.

Weren't you shocked, FireMan , when it arrived and you actually say how big and how heavy it was? It's my go-to board for brisket. Plus it was so pretty. Still is.

Still am a little befuddled at the size & weight of the thing, but wouldn’t trade it fer nuthin.

I knew the dimensions when I ordered, but I was still surprised at how big I was. First use was pounding some chicken beasts flat. Tonight I cut up a bunch of veggies.

I'm guessing you won't get board with that.

Aww man, that's beautiful. I made the mistake several years ago of telling my wife that I would like a Teakhaus carving board. She relaid that to her folks, who got me a much smaller, bamboo, board for Xmas. It generally gets the job done for hams and chickens, but no so much for beef roasts and turkeys. Since my in-laws got me that one,I can't replace it with the Teakhaus I really wanted. Super jelly over here. That's beautiful, you outta enjoy it for a long time

Thanks for the rec DennyWoo ! It's on order. Our old board was splitting/separating.
