It would be interesting to check. Is the weight (in hand) for the Wagner Sydney lighter than another CI of the same size? I have an old 10" Griswold (circa 1920) that is lighter than my 10" Wagner or BSR. The Wagner and BSR are closer to 1950/60.

That's a great deal! I like vintage CI. The wife and I take day trips often, her looking for antiques and me looking for CI. When I built my new shop this year I put in a lye tank, electrolysis tank, and a dedicated oven for seasoning my finds. You can really get hooked on CI hunting after a few good finds. That Wagner was worth more than you paid for the whole pile. There is a lot of very good info at castironcollector.com.

Any suggestions on how to go about cleaning them up?
-
They don't appear to have any rust problems so I would suggest soaking them in lye. It will remove all the crud, but won't affect the iron. Lye is harmful at the concentrations you will need, so some care must b exercised. Go to castironcollector.com and read about using it first. In cases where it's just crud I've had great luck with lye. You can leave a skillet in it for months and it will not hurt the iron, it just dissolves the cooked on stuff. I use electrolysis when there's rust to remove.

Spinaker posted this method for restoring old CI a few years ago. I've tried it and it's really easy and does an incredible job. His post is very detailed and very helpful. https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...ctrolysis-bath

What a win. I am a newbie with cast iron, but I sure love cooking with it. You would often be lucky to find one pan for that price.

That unmarked one with the three notches on the heat ring is an old Lodge. Since it is not marked "Made in the USA" is a pre 1960's casting. Pretty cool pan.
