My skillet just got here. So far, I love this thing. The cooking surface looks great, nice and smooth.

I love the classic design on the back. And the handle is a bit of a throw back as well.

The top half of the pan has a slight slope to make pouring liquids easier from any angle, with little dripping down the side of the pan.

All in all a pretty gorgeous pan. I can't wait to get some potatoes going in this baby tonight. And probably a steak for the Finex! Cheers to Steve B for posting this link!

I hadn't even noticed the lip. Lot's of nice details I'm sure I'll appreciate more and more over time. I know it was expensive but when you have it in your hands it feels, well, worth it.

Mine arrived today!!! (So, now I'm, like, a (semi-official) member of "our Anova community. ")!!??
    Cool!
Mine, unlike previous pics, seems to have a more cardboard-y seasonin' done to it...
    Hmmmm....
    I s'pose, it'll burn off, in time...

Very nice Mr. Bones you're gonna love it after that cardboardy taste goes away.

I think I got it figgered out, now...
Jus' had to put on my "Thinkin' Cap"!
(Which, it turns out, was found under th' folded-down back seat, in th' Blue Belle!!!)
That seat been folded down fer better 'n' five years, easy!

    First Impressions? Glad ya' asked!
Not at all an ultralite, dainty thing... (GOOD!!!)
Highly remniscient of my (very) old CI, thin, n' sturdy!!!!
You could easily despatch any home intruder with this skillet...
SO, be dang dang careful settin' this on yer glasstop stove, y'all!!!
Jus' sayin', ya' heard it here on AR, first!
Th' quality, an' workmanship is very admirable; interior finish is easily as smooth as a baby's backside...
Couldn't say if it's as smooth as th' dolphins that have petted me, but nothin' else I've ever found in this life has been, so far...so maybe an unfair comparison...

In my particular case, I will re-season it first... unattainable time comittment, until th' weekend hits, but I appreciate yer comment, with a large grain of salt! (weighed) !!!!
Guess I could / somebody should try one, right out of th' box, eh?

You're right, Spinaker and Ernest. That pan did feel great in the hand, and was sooo smooth! I kept thinking of the Lodge collection of pans I already have, though. Decisions, decisions.

I have cooked on it for the last two nights. I just keep forgetting to take pictures. Cooks potatoes like a dream. Moving on to steaks next week. Not for long though. The Finex NO 10 is Boss Hog on that deal.

Mr. Bones with that smooth surface I bet all you need is preheat, rub a thin layer of oil. Let it cool and you'd be good to go.

Saweeet. If you take your time, use high heat and sloooow cool downs you will have a bullet proof seasoning layer.

*Make sure to shake the bottle prior to dispensing.
