Friends, with my weber kettle and OJB, what do y’all recommend for me to use on top of either as a griddle. I cannot justify buying a dedicated griddle, but would love something to go on top.

I’d go ahead and rule out a griddle for The Bronco. 22” is the width of the kettle vs 18” for the Bronco. You’ll want all the cooking space you can get, not to mention it’s easier setting up the kettle for grilling than the Bronco. Stay away from SS for a griddle, too hard to clean up. Look for cast iron or carbon steel instead.

I like this offering from SnS. It weighs 23 pounds, so it’s almost twice as thick as the Hunsaker, and it’s 15% off this weekend. SnS makes great stuff!

If it's twice as thick it would actually be difficult to use on Mater touch Webers. I have to wear welding gloves and watch the angle when placing the Hunsaker in my kettle as the pins that hold the lid rack are in the way of placing the grate or griddle in place. On a regular kettle wouldn't be an issue.

He’s gonna use the griddle on his kettle. I’m sure these are fine, but being rectangular in shape, a 21.5” round griddle fitting the kettle would give him more cooking space

J-Melt Speaking from experience and having a dedicated griddle, I’d definitely recommend the round 21.5” griddle that mnavarre and JohnPaul suggest getting. You’re only talking about a $30. difference in price to get so much more cooking space. The rectangular griddle above is only 9.3” wide and the largest one that fits a kettle is the one that’s 19.25” long. When you start putting veggies and whatever on the griddle, then go to stir or flip them, you’ll regret not having more space, trust me on this. 9” wide is not nearly enough space IMO. You’ll be dropping food on the grates constantly unless you’re extremely careful. I had a half moon SNS griddle once, it covered half the kettle, and I still wished it was bigger.
Here’s how much wasted cooking space you’d have with the rectangular griddle.
