Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

MAK Grills is no more. They have ceased operations, support, and all customer service.
Now may be a good time to check third party parts suppliers for frequently replaced parts, although perhaps parts may still be manufactured by such third party suppliers, unknown...
I'm compiling a list of SKU's of things that work but if any of the AR staff has any connections that might be able to find some of the OEM suppliers I would appreciate it.
DAAAAAANG that is SAD. I knew they were having some problems sourcing stainless, or so they said... or so I remember reading, I don't know. But that truly SUCKS. A very very bad thing for the BBQ community, a great company and product going by the wayside. I am sure there are many, many reasons behind this - and being a family-owned company (I think?), not selling out their brand and name for a quick buck on exit to a company that will water down the brand and taint their legacy.
I have and will continue to love my MAK, I always (until this month) had great service from them... but how they encouraged loyal customers to buy a faulty product and waited just long enough for the checks to clear before pulling the rug kinda ruins any legacy.

MAK Metals closed doors in March. James G. Murphy, a commercial auction company, conducted an online auction April 1-8, 619 lots. Apparently a change in ownership of both companies occurred in 2023/2024. To another couple. Both companies operated in the same building.
This info is based upon googling MAK Metals (not to be confused with MAK Metal Supply).
For me the most frustrating part is the sudden inability to control or monitor the grill remotely. I can use a thermoworks signals to track temps, but I can't control the smoker anymore.
we are working on that, though while a possibility it's also unlikely... but unlikely is better than a hard not possible. Just gonna depend on who has the rights to what and if we can secure them.
Jerod Broussard that was remote start up, can still change temps and shut down on most grills just have to start it in person 'cause well it should never have been an option to start a fire without physically being at the source.
