Hey all. Been trying to up my bread game lately, and an important part of that is, of course, grilling me some pizza. Meathead gave the Pizzacraft 15" pizza stone a gold rating, and it looks like that's what I'm going to try out first. That said, I'd like to check with the community for any feedback if they've tried or own one. The common complaint in my initial research is that the stone can give off a chemical odor; some say it never goes away. I'm curious if anyone has experienced this? Did you solve the problem, and if so, how? Thanks in advance for any comments or advice!

I've got a couple pizza stones that I use a lot and have never felt that there's any type of odor related to either one. One is from the Ceramic Grill Store in Texas and the the other from BGE. They are both used in the indoor oven and my BGE. Good Luck.

Thanks for the responses guys! I'm guessing the problem lies in the fact that the Pizzacraft is a sort of "synthetic" ceramic, which probably is the source of any sort of chemical odor. I'm going to try out Meathead's recommendation, since it's only $17. If I even get a whiff of chemicals, I'll ditch that and spend the money on a good, proper ceramic one like you guys are using.
Thanks again!
