    Food safe sprayer

Does anyone know if the Solo 1 liter sprayer is considered "food safe" for use as a spritzer bottle?

I dont think ive ever seen somethin like that labeled as "food safe", probably due to lack of demand.

however, if you find one that is high grade polyethylene with no copper or brass valves then you should be in business. Polyethylene is highly unreactive. You want to avoid brass and copper because prolonged exposure to acidic solutions will start to leach into the solution.

if you are planning on use and clean and not storing anything in them then you should be totally fine.

I ordered the Solo sprayer from Big Poppa Smokers so I believe it is considered to be "food safe" or else they probably wouldn't sell it. I washed mine with a little bleach & hot water and then rinsed it before using. I would recommend doing that with any sprayer before using it.

Buyer beware! I have conducted much research into this subject and have found that when you pin down the manufacturer you find out that the bottle is food/ acid safe, but the sprayer is not! The one identified by the OP is listed in the garden section of the vendors site and say nothing about being food safe.

I only found two that are safe. One is called EVO. And the other is this one:

          The bottle is glass.

I emailed Big Poppa Smokers yesterday and asked if the Solo 1 Sprayer was food grade/food safe. Here is their response:
            Hello,

We use it ourselves for cooking; but, the item itself was designed as a landscape product.

            Regards,

So I guess that means no, it is not a food grade product.

As long as you are not running Roundup through it every second weekend I see no reason not to use it. It is just a plastic bottle.
