My wife is a big fan of Kohl's. Today last day of 40% off. Plus she had other discounts. So says to me do you need anything, figuring I would grab a couple of pairs of socks. Well, when I said I put what I wanted in the cart on her account this is what she found.
Years ago I had a deep fryer but really didn't use it. So got rid of it. Since my interests in cooking has magnified I've regretted it's departure.
She told me she'll not be offering me to get anything again.

Finally arrived. Going to do a recipe I found. Firecracker deep fried drum sticks. Marinating in hot sauce now. Add flour and panko bread crumbs. Also some fries. Start with frozen 1st time around.
Pics to come, maybe ðŸ—ðŸŸ🙄

Here's the results. 1st, mixed reviews. The reason IMO was i followed the recipes to the tee. The issue was the chicken was not as moist as i would have liked. The taste and crispness was great. I was a bit surprised that it wasn't as hot as I would liked it. It called for marinade for 1 to 24 hours. I did about 1.5 hours. I should have done at least overnight. On the fries (frozen) Ore Ida Zesty Curly's. Did what was on the bag, overcooked. So my learnings; move the length of time back and lower the cooking temp a bit.
About 1/2 way through. Flipped them
Done
Obvious the fries were over cooked. But no grease, crisp and crunchy.
Next up will be coconut shrimp and possibly a couple of lobster tails. Not sure how that would be approached in a fryer. Will have to research that.
