    Knife info?

There was an estate sale down the street from my house. I saw this knife and picked it up. It looks to be pretty good, but I’m not real sure. For the price, it didn’t really matter. Can anyone give me any information on it? I Googled it, but there’s not a lot out there. Based on my search, it seems to be in the middle of the road, standard knife. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this brand. Ekco France, Ancien Maison, hand-forged stainless, G2780. Thanks!

        I think it's a stealth knife - we can't see it...

I checked on some of the sharpening groups to learn a little more. Decent knives and metal, better than average for the time, and popular gift in the 40-60’s. Hand forged. Company had been making knives for 400 years but couldn’t find out what happened to them. Some of their knives were made by another company, Sabatier which made fully forged knives.

Still no pics. Judging from Donw 's comment, they might be Mighty Oak. I have a lot of them, and they are fine knives.

Got the pics, NP. This time period was meant to be French Farmhouse Rustic while still competing / outdoing English Sheffield stainless of the same period, having a better 'feel' while cutting. (look at common Sheffield designs and you'll see.)

Get it professionally sharpened at 15-19 Degrees (unless you can do that), and hone it as you use it. It should last a year between sharpening.

Use it, but don't have a Saison until you're done.

                I LIKE it.
