Blue Big Green Egg Chiminea

Saying good bye to an old friend today.
I have an OLD BGE chiminea in blue that as far as I know was only made for one year. (They also did a very limited number of blue Eggs which I should have bought when I had a chance.)
I posted pics of it on here quite a while back and I posted pics on the BGE site where it caught the attention of a collector down in Texas.
He's been after me to buy it for quite while and I finally caved in yesterday.To me the amount he is giving for it is unbelievable (we have a gentlemens agreement that I won't tell how much but it is substantial beyond belief.) Money PLUS a Green BGE chiminea.I told him the Green one would be sold also as these things are not chiminea they are incinerators!! Fire them up and it shoot flame 3 feet out the top of the chiminea.
I'm going to figure out how to post pics again as a good bye to the thing.

SERIOUSLY.
It has spent its life parked under a tree for the summer and hauled into the shed in the winter.
Used about half a dozen times by my kids and grandkids.
it will be kind of strange not hauling it out next Spring.

Cheef I didn’t mean it was junk. You seemed astounded by what the guy was willing to pay. I was only making a parallel to how one person sees far less value in something that another person sees as very valuable.

LA Pork Butt--no I know you meant no offense. I am just still kind of gobsmacked to think it is worth that much to anyone. BUT collectors can be weird folks. And there are some strange things out there that catch peoples fancy.

Prices for the chimineas are all over the map. Seen them listed for as little as $200 to as much as $650.

A blue chiminea would be a great match with someone that has one of the rare blue Eggs.

Funny thing?
He does have a Blue BGE and the Blue Chiminea gives him the set.
His Blue BGE has the old Green feet with it though. The Feet were kind of an add on to the BGE years ago. He tells me the Blue feet are the rarest of the rare for BGE collectors.

He was pretty excited over the fact that it has a chiminea cover. He didn't know they made them
It is typical BGE green vinyl whatever they used. Cracked and aged like they all are but he is excited to get a pattern. It also has the ash deflector which he says is non existent as far as he knows because the all burned out from use. Easy to believe when you see the fire coming out of these things.
