    Insulated Pan Carriers

Anybody ever tried these instead of Cambro?

Designed for transport, the CaterGator black front loading insulated food pan carrier provides the versatility and quality you need to safely deliver pans of food. It holds up to (5) 2 1/2" deep food pans and can accommodate various combinations of full, 1/2, and 1/3 size pans that are 2 1/2", 4", and 6" deep. It will work with most types of pans as well, including foil, plastic, and even stainless steel. Because the carrier is made with polyurethane foam insulation, it offers superior temperature retention and maintains hot or cold food temperatures for up to 7 hours. For use with cold dishes, pre-chill the unit with its door open in a walk-in refrigerator or freezer. For pre-heating the unit, place a hotel pan of hot water into the unit, and close the door for 20 minutes prior to loading your hot dishes. This insulated pan carrier features a rugged, polyethylene exterior and withstands constant wear and tear from use, transport, and exposure to high heat. It includes plastic latches that securely lock the door to retain temperature. It also includes steel reinforced plate hinges to resist breakage and to ensure longevity. The door even extends to a full 270 degrees for easy access. For convenient transport, the unit features molded-in handles that are both durable and ergonomic. This design allows the carrier to stack with other CaterGator or similar Carlisle and Cambro carriers and simplify storage. Overall Dimensions: Width: 17" Depth: 24 1/4" Height: 25 1/4" Interior Dimensions: Width: 13 3/4" Depth: 20 3/4" Height: 17"

Who cares if it's Cambro brand or not? We don't say hey I cut my finger can you grab be a faux band-aid? So we should either call everything cambro, or come up with a better term.

      It's from CAMley BROthers originally.

I was looking around on that website and this one seems pretty affordable at $45.

Effortlessly transport your hot or cold food to your next catered event with this Cambro EPP180SW110 black Cam GoBox® insulated food pan carrier. The Cam GoBox® offers optimal versatility and features a professional grade construction made from expanded polypropylene (EPP), a closed-cell bead foam that provides thermal insulation with a high level of durability. This high-tech material is extremely lightweight while maintaining optimal impact and chemical resistance, and it is also eco-friendly. Light enough to hold above your head with one hand, you will only need one person to carry this around, even when filled with food! This prevents workplace injuries from trying to carry those heavy plastic food carriers filled with your equally heavy supply of food. This top loader offers a variety of pan carrier options, holding up to one full size 8" deep food pan. Additionally, mix and match a 6" deep and 2 1/2" deep pan, two 4" deep pans, or up to four 2 1/2" pans. The walls have recesses on the inside so you can get a good hold of your food pans while removing, and the straight walls allow you to stack food pans with ease. For even more convenience, the molded handles on either side of the carrier provide an ergonomic grip for comfort while transporting. For larger catering events, this carrier is stackable, allowing for effortless transport in cars or vans. The insulation quality of this carrier is also ideal for transporting your food for extended periods of time. It will hold cold food below 41 degrees Fahrenheit or hot food above 135 degrees Fahrenheit for up to four hours at a time! Plus, if you need a longer hold time, you can use the Camchiller or Camwarmer accessories (sold separately) to extend your food holding time even further. Whether you deliver personal meals, deliver take-out, host a large event, or have a catering company, the Cam GoBox® is the perfect way to transport and hold your delicious food without breaking your back or your budget! Overall Dimensions:Length: 23 9/16"Width: 15 11/16"Height: 12 3/8"

rampking my cambro looks identical to that one. Same handles, clips, racking system, everything. Must be 1 main source that makes it and allows other to out their brand name on it. Anyhow, it works great!

Ah HA! This illustrates the difference between needing to transport and cater food, and wrapping and setting up for hours. I don't use a cooler to set up a brisket or roast. I use a table top roaster on warm, with a towel between the meat and lid. Removable inner pan makes it easier to use, for me, than a cooler - and it will run in my truck.

I had been looking at insulated food carriers for some time. I had always used an ice chest. I had the opportunity to use Cambros in Redding, CA working as a volunteer for BBQ relief. It was so effective and convenient, I was convinced that I had to have one. I have ordered from Webstrauntstore before and read the reviews of the CaterGator. The biggest complaint among reviewer about the one you are looking at is that the gasket can fail or come off. Most reviewers however, were delighted with their purchase.

My issue with the proposed purchase: The first thing I ordered from Webstrauntstore was a deli slicer. The shipping cost was not prohibitive however, the CaterGator was going to be very expensive to ship. I was able to get a new Cambro 300 series through Amazon from another vendor for about $30 more than the list price of the CaterGator. When the shipping cost was factored in, the Cambro was actually cheaper than the CaterGator.. I love what I got. I am sure I would have been just as happy with the CaterGator, though.

It is noted that the Cambro model I have does not have as many shelves. For me that is nice because if I need more room in the future I can use the ice chest.

Good point! I did not even notice what the shipping was on those. BTW as a side note I’m from Anderson, CA originally but live in Texas now. Did you work the BBQ relief on the recent fires?

rampking - I did work BBQ relief in Redding for the Carr fire. It was a great experience! Whatever model you get you will be happy. The prices are volatile though, on Amazon. Any of them will fluctuate by $30-40 from the same vendor from day to day. Wait for the "sale" price.

Mine are Carlisle brand but identical to Cambro. In fact when some one asks me about them I don't call them Carlisle's I call them Cambro's or food keepers. I have kept pork butts in mine for 14 hours and they were still at 136 going by the Thermapen. I got lucky and ran across them on CL for about a third of the price.

Since the conversation is about Cambros, I just got lucky and won this one at auction for less than $100.
