I never have luck like that at yard sales. I suspect that I don't go to enough, the hit rate is probably very low.

That is one cool ol slicer; I cain't recall, in all my travels, ever seein / usin one that had alla that purty porcelain!!!

I would remember, cause after ya use one, of course, ya always haveta break it down an clean it...an act I have performed countless thousands of times...

Got any shots of th Mfr's tag that is doubtless riveted on it, somewhere?

I find myself even more envious now, an delighted that ya made such a fantastic score!

      $30??? WOW!!!!
I can try to get a photo but as you might imagine the tag is less than stellar and very difficult to read. I did write down a model number, or at least what I think is the model number but didn't turn up any results on a google search. I do intend to contact Globe and see if they can help me identify it so I know what part numbers to use when I have a need for replacement parts.

I hear ya there. This was one of those rare events. The wife whom knows very little to nothing about these appliances was even impressed with my luck and asked if she could participate in the renovation. Good thing I didn't have a sheet of sand paper handy to hand her. I suspect that would have doused her desire to help.

Well as Mr. Bones asked about a photo of the tag, it came out better than I expected. A little hard to read but if you look close you'll see a serial number and model number. I went to Globes web site and searched for that model but came up empty. I did send an email requesting assistance on parts locating. Click image for larger version
