    G&F 8115 Gloves -OUCH!!!

My new gloves arrived yesterday and on the first use last night burned the crap out my fingers trying to remove a grill rack which was less than 300 degrees. So how does this get a gold seal rating? My wife's $4 pot holder mitt did a better job. Here is what they look like.Click image for larger version

Those just look like regular gardening type gloves, not something heat rated???

I use welder's gloves from Harbor Freight - you can carry around fire and be OK on the cheap.

Amazing deals on this Premium Welding Gloves at Harbor Freight. Quality tools & low prices.

I have these. There are a lot of similar brands. I can pick up a stray ember off the driveway and put it back in the firebox. Very good and washable too. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Apparently 932F is some kind of ISO or EU standard.

That looks similar to what I have. Probably not the best but they do a good enough job. I can stir the coals a bit without getting burnt. Can't really grab a flaming log or anything like that but they work for lifting hot grates and the like.

No experience with these myself, but I recently bought BBQ Dragon's gloves, and while they feel nice and promise heat resistance, they were uncomfortably hot grabbing a CI skillet out of the oven. Pot holders did a better job for me too.

XXLong welders gloves. I use these to stick my arm in my 800* WFO. I've pulled 500* pans out of the WFO without issue. Probably a little over kill for most grilling situations but your not going to get burned.

Beg pardon, but what is the WFO? Wood Fired Oven?

I swear by these gloves. Use them all the time when cleaning my WSCGC 24" grate on my Summit gasser. I have to flip the grate to scrub the underside and at 600-700 degrees, it's really hot. Never a problem.

These gloves are rated to 900°F direct contact and 1200°F otherwise: Protects in any temperature

Avoid worker injury by providing these heat resistant, wool lined, Kevlar® backed gloves for working around high temperatures.
            • Aluminized backing, over blended Kevlar® and para aramid blend fabric palm, reflects 90% of radiant heat away from back of hand for optimum protection
            • Rugged 14" glove, with 11 oz. wool lining, provides radiant heat and abrasion resistance
            • Protects in any temperature up to 1200°F radiant heat and 900°F short contact heat

I also use this kevlar sleeve to protect my braceleted arms. I usually use them with my Grill Beast or Pit Mitt gloves but they're good with the big kevlar gloves as well.

They come in 10" to 18" lengths. https://www.northernsafety.com/Search?q=kevlar+sleeve

I have those G & F gloves, and I don't recommend them at all. It's the only purchase I have made from a recommendation on this site that I have been disappointed in. They are okay until they get hot, then they STAY hot, and you practically have to rip them off your hands. I went back to my "Ove-Glove"

I got a pair of firefighter gloves on sale at a local public safety supply. They fit well & are very heat resistant. Regularly about $100 on sale > $50.

Just my opinion, I have a pair & have moved my grill rack & picked it up many times. The pic you have does not look like the gloves I have. Those are a different color & I have no marks from handling a grate or anything else.

I got a pair last week and used them over the weekend on the pellet grill - moved and cleaned the grill grate while it was hot, moved some food with some short tongs, no problem. The grill was running around 400.
