My Grill Grates Need Help

A few years ago I replaced the grates on my Weber Genesis with Grill Grates. A while back they were exposed to a pretty intense grease fire (which I did not start). They really got fried. So now my Grill Grates are anything but non-stick and it’s nearly impossible to clean the grooves. I have tried several times to bring them back to no avail. Any suggestions, anybody?

Welcome to the Pit! Thanks for joining up!

I would use HD oven cleaner. Get the good stuff. This is what I use to clean all my smokers and grills. It will eat through pretty much anything. It will strip a cast iron pan in a day.
