Grill Grates vs Weber Spirit II original grates opinions sought

Are Grill Grates substantially better than the original grates that came on my Weber Spirit II E-310? If so, why? If I buy Grill Grates, should they replace or go on top of the original grates? Thanks in advance for your help!

I replaced my stainless Genesis grates with them and absolutely love them. They distribute heat much more evenly virtually eliminating cold and hot spots. They also eliminate flare ups. They are versatile as well. You can flip them over and basically have a griddle.

GrillGrates are far better, imo. I use the flat side far more than the grate side--a uniformly seared, "maillardized" steak beats crosshatching any day. GGs replace your grates, they don't go on top of the old ones.

I just replaced my Weber grates with GrillGrates and the difference is very noticeable. You won't be disappointed.
