Results of a bad bout with the MCS beast!

Acquired these things over the last couple weeks. It quieted the beast for a little while but now I'm lusting after that Finex 5qt dutch oven!!

My Finex 10"skillet with cover. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but very soon! Click image for larger version Name:	fenix2.jpg Views:	1 Size:	222.3 KB ID:	502130

Then it was some upscale olive oils. Regular, lemon infused and chile pepper infused and a small canister of sea salt and dried herb rub. The oil is a win the flavors are incredible and make fantastic board sauce. I will never buy grocery store oils again!

Then my custom made kitchen knife set. Made by a forger I have gotten to know on another forum. I placed the order about 4 months ago and finally received them last week. Razor sharp. Beautiful set the pictures don't do justice!

Last but not least a new Thermapen and Therma Pop! Thought I lost my Thermapen a few weeks ago so I ordered a new one along with the Pop. Of course my other one turned up. My sons birthday tomorrow and we got him a pellet pooper so I will throw in my old Thrmapen!

    Dude the Finex is awesome.

But those knives WOW!!!!!!! Can you tell us more about them. They look like they would fit perfectly in your hand and arched just right for slicing, dicing and damn I can go on. Maybe a link to his site?

If you don’t mind. How much did those knives set you back? They look like they are worth every penny.

Steve B yes the knives are absolutely beautiful and a pleasure to use. The difference between these and my old knives is indescribable! This is the description of the specs he sent me via email just before he shipped.

The blades are CPM 154 powder metallurgy high carbon stainless steel. They have been cryo treated for exceptional wear resistance. You should not have to sharpen them. Get a good knife steel and use that before use. If you want them sharpened send them back to me and I will do it no charge just pick up shipping costs.
The handle material is stabilized cocobolo with nickel silver pins.

This set was not as expensive as you might think. I could have easily spent much more on Santoku or Japanese knives.
You just have to wait to get them. It was about 4 months to get these. I'm also going to have a set of 4 matching steak knives made. Believe it or not I have put these in storage for the time being. We are having our kitchen remodeled. I will find a nice magnetic block to display them on once the kitchen is finished.

The name of his business is Sandown Forge. Here is the link. http://www.sandownforge.com/Sandown_...own_Forge.html I couldn't recommend him more heartily!

Thank you Frozen Smoke I really appreciate your response.
And the fact that he would resharpen them is a huge bonus.
        Damn this MCS. 👍🏼👊🏻🙂

Steve B he is a custom forger. He will make what ever you want. These knives are his standard kitchen knife set. I love cococbolo wood so I just went with that. if you have some specific ideas on materials and blade lengths he will be happy to accommodate. The ones pictured are 8,6, and 4 inch lengths. Perfect for around the kitchen.

I've been looking at Finex cast iron pans ever since Spinaker and Ernest talked about them here on The Pit. But gosh, they're heavy, especially with the lid!

I was eyeballing the 12 inch skillet with lid and still tempt myself with it each time I go to Kitchen and Company. It's so pretty. I don't need it, since I have plenty of cast iron, but I sure want it.

Enjoy all those new toys, Frozen Smoke , and let us know how you like cooking with that Finex pan.

EdF Tightly!! But I tell you, that dutch oven is a thing of beauty. I bet Spinaker picked up one already.
