    Steak knives recommendations

Other than MH's review of some Brazilian steak knives, what do you fine folks recommend?

I go with Dalstrong the straight edge ones so they are easier to sharpen

If you use straight edge knives on a ceramic plate, you will be sharpening them often.

When I use them I use these. They were given to me by a friend. They work for sawing off a nice piece of over cooked meat!

And I like these, but I have a good electric sharpener.

I usually use cheaper ones. Serrated edge, sharpen a couple of times, replace.

You just reminded me that I received the steak knives we use in 1966 as a HS graduation gift. I'm thinking they were regifted to me - I mean, who gives a HS graduate steak knives for graduation? LOL

The "Oldtimer" in my pocket works very well quite often.

ID:	488821 Quite pricey but I love them. The steak knife from Cutco.

I just bought a set of these:

Good quality and economical. I prefer wood handles over plastic but that’s just my preference. With a little food grade mineral oil the handles really pop.

Unless one is just wanting a "manly" looking set of knives I recommend these Oxo knives - https://smile.amazon.com/OXO-Grips-5...serrated+knife

Oxo also sells a "pro grade" version at twice the price but I have no idea what the difference is.

My experience with them over many years is that you'll likel never need to deal with sharpening the serrations but I do fin that the non-serrated front ip will round over and dull after years of dragging across a ceramic dinner plate. However, sharpening that short length of flat metal is easily done.
