KT's Clean BBQ disposable bbq grill grate liners--Anybody use these?

I came across a packet of KT's Clean BBQ disposable aluminum grill liners on sale at Walmart last year sometime and really like using them.

But I've never used them directly on the grill grate. What I like them for is putting on top of an aluminum-foil-lined rimmed cookie sheet for cooking a pound of bacon on my gasser.

Then this morning I decided to use the same setup--foil-lined rimmed cookie sheet with one of those disposable liners on top-- to roast a few pounds of beef bones and 4 shorties on my gasser for homemade beef broth. (I'll use some of the broth for homemade French onion soup later on in the week.)

Anyway, it's sure a nice way to keep the bacon or meat out of the grease without dirtying a metal rack, which is what I used to use and hated to clean.

It's supposed to be the thickness of 3 sheets of heavy duty aluminum foil.

Has anyone used them directly on the grill grate as intended?

Nope! Not me. First time I even heard of them.

I have seen these before and almost picked them up. I would end up using them for the opposite purpose for which they were intended: put them on a dirty grate to keep old crud from sticking to the food when I was too lazy to give it a good scrubbing after I used it last.

I would say that the main purpose of them is to use on stationary grills at parks and campsites.

They say they're great for grilling fish, since the fish doesn't stick.

Good thought, DWCowles about using for public grills at parks and campsites.

Since I've run through the package I bought at Walmart, I ordered some directly from the website. Amazon had them, but the KT's Clean BBQ website was actually cheaper. Plus, since David Parrish told us all about how Amazon does not support its independent small businesses, I always try to purchase direct from a business's website.

Never used or even heard of them Kathryn. They kind of remind me of my Phat Mats which I absolutely love. I would be interested in how these work out, I’m all about less grill cleaning .... yuck!

They do look like they would be handy.

I haven’t heard of them either. But it seem like it could be a good thing.
Hoppfuly someone chimes in with experience on these.

Like others have already said, I think these could be useful if you had to use public grills that are dirty or rusty. Of course, an even better, but certainly not cheaper solution would be to carry around a set of Grillgrates with you, to toss down on those random public park grills.

My son is moving out next November before a January wedding, and if he can take a gas grill is taking my Weber Genesis Silver A with him. If he ends up at an apartment complex that only has community grills, I'll get him a 2 or 3 panel set of Grillgrates to use.

I have used them many times, and I love them, Especially for doing wings, since they can get the grates really gross. I have seen these at Home Depot as well, although I don't recall the price.
I love your idea for doing bacon with them. I have to try that!

Thunder77 , I like doing bacon that way--in the gasser with that disposable grate over an aluminum-foil-lined rimmed cookie sheet. That way I can have perfectly cooked bacon, keep the smell out of the house, catch all the drippings, and throw out the cookie sheet liner and the disposable grate when done. Win-win-win-win.

I do bacon on my Pellet Grill in a similar way. Works great! Do 1-2 pounds at a time and freeze. Take out how ever many pieces of bacon we need at a time an re-warm in the microwave.

I have not used that brand but something a bit similar directly on the grate for doing something like shrimp or veggies. For bacon, your idea of a foil pan underneath would be perfect.
