We received a Cuisinart MG-100 as a gift last fall and have only used it once. Pulled it out today to grind some chuck steak, bacon, and rib eye roast for hamburgers. Danged if the plastic driven gear on the feed screw pin failed. Fortunately, the person that gifted us the grinder still has the receipt and we still have the original box, so it is going back to the store. Which leads me to my question… Does anyone have a recommendation on a decent quality meat grinder/sausage stuffer that doesn’t have plastic drive parts?
smokinp - I'll add another +1 for LEM . . . I got a refurbished #8 grinder, 5 Pound stuffer, a set of stainless stuffing tubes and several additional grinder plates for something less than $250. And LEM's customer service is a 10.
Weston makes good meat grinders, as well as LEM. This is the one I use, however it may be more than what you need unless you are doing lots of grinding.
