Ok I was tired of having to destroy the disposable aluminum pans so they would fit into my Cooler. (I like using said pans to wrap what ever I'm smoking that way I don't have to worry about things like the bones on ribs poking through and letting out all the liquid, but had to mangle them so they would fit in my narrow cooler. I was gifted a 14# Premium ( lol yeah I would never pony up the money for a Premium) Turkey I wanted to Brine it but no room in the Fridge. There are 2 things I resolved my self to get next year a Cambro and a chamber Vac. So I decided it was time to get a Cambro. Went looking and of course the Prices were hard on this old cheapskate, until I came across a ToGo Cambro. It was smaller (great for me!) and suppose to be used by caterers so it must be sturdy right?? The Pictures looked fine since it was less than half the price of the others I said what the heck. Well got it today. The box was way bigger than I expected (it was a small one right?) and when I went to pick up the big box I almost threw it over the house as it was much MUCH lighter than I expected? So I get it inside and open it up and sure enough there is something in the box (I was afraid for a sec it was empty) It did indeed look like the pictures but when I got it out it wasn't the rotomolded plastic like I expected. it, it was styrofoam!!! What! it said it was sturdy and stackable! Ok so its a thick Styrofoam and it has a texture on the outside that seems strong-ish. Its suppose to hold temp (hot or cold) to within 10 Degrees for 4 hours. That's as long as I would ever rest a Brisket or pork butt but but my genius idea was for stuff like brinning! I tried a couple of those meals in a box (like plated or blue chef) and the frozen cold bags they use are reusable!! So I would use a couple of those in the bottom (they stay cold for 12 hours easy!) to keep the temp below the dreaded 40 degree mark, instead of buying a cold plate that fits in the bottom and costs more than the cambro. I'll use it and do some tests and let you guy know if I believe its a real Cambro or not. I'm including some pictures

And one of the Dirty Cooler I was using (it lives in the garage poor thing)

yep DWCowles that is what I was expecting only smaller. but now that I've moved it a few time (like out on the deck) I banged it on the door and the the brick wall and... well yo gt the idea (not on purpose its just bigger than I realize for its size lol) and not a scratch or blemish so its more hardy than i originally feared.Last edited by GadjetGriller; November 24, 2017, 10:49 PM.

It looks like a real Cambro but I've never seen them made of styrofoam. Perhaps it's a "Genuine Cambro?" Who know, maybe the company made a more affordable version.
Cambro, proudly a Huntington Beach company!!

Thanks for sharing @GadjetGriller. I am just as interested in if the hotel pans will work as good as foil instead of wrapping. Not that I have space for hotel pan's and lids, but it makes me think about it.

I got it it from Ace Mart however somehow (you know how ads work on sites) i found that American Restaurant Supply (https://www.americanrestaurantsupply) has it for 10 bucks cheaper its the Cambro EPP300110 Front Loading Cam GoBox the 400 is the next bigger size and only 10 buck higher.

Just so you know I did my homework on Ace mart. Its based in Texas (where I am as well) got it quick and the sale went off with out a hitch. I haven't looked into American Restaurant supply so cant say its a good site or not. So you may want to check into them first. Better safe than sorry.

GadjetGriller Thanks, here's a link to the Cambro page: http://www.cambro.com/Products/Insul...2491/1033.aspx BTW, they have a 'Cambrowarmer' and 'Cambrochiller' available to warm or cool your Gobox.

Never seen the styro ones like that. I'm sure they will do the job but I wonder how long they will hold up to being moved around. I found 2 Carlisle ones (same as Cambro) on CL for $150 plus they came with the wheeled dolly for moving them around. They have proved invaluable to me as I do a good amount of large event catering.
I leave pork butts in mine overnight and pull the next day and they are still too hot to pull without gloves.
Also nice when you've had a few, ah, several or maybe more cocktails and you're not quite up to pulling pork after a 10 hour cook.
