I've tended to go back and forth using whetstones vs. remembering to go to nearby knife shop to get them manually sharpened, but curious if anybody has any experience using electric sharpener such as the Work Sharp?
Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

I use the original work sharp knife and tool sharpener and it produces edges I can shave with. Looks to me like this E5 is just an evolved variation on that original design. I've got a couple work sharp pieces and they all work quite well when I don't want to take the time to use a stone.

I got a $50 gift card for cooking at work and bought the basic work sharp from Cabela's and am very happy how it works. No frills just one angle and does a super job.http://www.cabelas.com/product/Work-...B&gclsrc=aw.ds
