Finally a way to start a chimney...

Sooooo tired of burning paper, hate them cubes. I cut out some grooves (needs a little more trimming) so the chimney sits lower and subsequently closer to the burner.

Thankfully I was able to cook in the shade, barely. Solid 100 degrees. Chicken, burgers and weiners.

I was getting free as it gets newspaper. Even if I still got that this trumps it by far.

I use the side burner on my Genesis, it does the trick on a full large chimney as well as a small batch of briquets in the small chimney. Super fast! I have a small enclosed patio and don't like trying to contain the newspaper ash.

Just something else to buy. Loathe might be a better word.

Hmmm... brilliant! I've got one of those.👍

It has 41,000 BTU's and it works really good for frying turkeys and chicken wings. It's really good for woking Chinese food and now... firing up my charcoal starter.😆😆😆👍👍👍

LOL... that is a nice cart.👍 It's handy for taking the kids and grandkids to the beach or out to breakfast/lunch or dinner. Plus... I don't have to pay the parking meters in Hermosa Beach if my car is electric.👍 It has a really nice stereo too,👍 The grandkids love it.

What's up with the cutout section of the chimney starter? I don't mind starter cubes, but I hate the mess created by burning newspaper.

I use the same burner. It's very convenient for long burns in a COS. And if you loose track of time you can speed up the time it takes for the charcoal to get ready by cranking up the flame.
