i'm try to find a good type of glove to use while barbecuing/smoking. I am familiar with the leather welder-type gloves but what I would like is wheat resistant silicone (or some type) glove that I can grab the meat without burning my hands or grossing out my guests. I see a lot of the pros using gloves like this but don't know what they are or where to get them.

Others will chime in I hope, but I'll give you my story. I have struggled with gloves for some time. Tried regular cheap white Nitrile kitten gloves for a while, then my welding gloves. Not good for handling food as you know.
Then I finally got a set of these things. What a horrific experience I have had with these. When greasy, they are sooooo slick you can't even open the lid. Dropped a whole brisket one time:

Then I found these Nitrile glove liners. They work great:
Sweet Swine O' Mine offers the best in Grills, Smokers, BBQ Sauces, BBQ Rubs, and More. We are your one store shop for Backwoods smoker, Meadow Creek BBQ, sauces, rubs and competition BBQ trailers.
I use them under what I consider the best Nitrile glove I have ever found:
They are so good in fact, I did a comprehensive review on these gloves found here:
Hope this helps.

Come on Chris - man up and reach in there and grab that burnin' log. You don't need no stinkin' gloves.
But seriously, I use something like these for handling hot meat. I don't know the brand - they came out of the bargain bin at Cabela's for less than $10.
And I have collected a number of nomex gloves over the years for use with hot grates, pots and whatever. Similar to these.

I use the same thing fuzzydaddy posted a link for. They are ok can feel the heat through them if your carrying any thing for a small distance, and not fun getting off if your hands are wet

RonB - That's why I'm looking for gloves. I'm tired of burning my hands because I was not prepared with the right equipment. So far, my procedure has been to grab the red hot meat with my bare hands and then grab a cold beer. This technique works but leads to warmer beer than I would prefer.

I never touch the meat on the grill with my hands. I use tongs to turn over most smaller items and bear claws if I have to rotate something large which I haven't had the need to do very often. I use these when working on the grill setup or making adjustments.
Somehow, I'm still dumb enough to have actually burned my arm above the end of the gloves. *smh*
