    Water/Drip Pan

Hope I am posting this in the correct forum.

I am going to pickup a water/drip pan with the Ultimate Smoked Turkey recipe in mind. Do you guys have a recommended size? The one I am looking at is 17" L x 14.25" W x 3.5" H. This is well within the cold area of my grill.

    Thanks for any advice!

I use an aluminum half sized pan when I do the UT recipe. Are you doing the gravy? Highly recommend you do. Make sure it can hold 3.5 qts. of liquid

Thanks for the reply. I am definitely doing the gravy. I got the roasting pan I was looking at. $15 and holds well more than 3.5 qts.

I did the UT last week. First time to smoke a turkey. Used a 22.5 WSM had a bit of trouble maintaining 300+ temp. Took 4 hours to do 12 pounder. Used the gravy recipe which probably was acting like a water pan. After it was all done we had a delicious turkey and the gravy was the highlight. Wife made stew with leftover bird and gravy. Loove that Simon and Funky seasoning.
