    Instafire

I just wanted to give a heads up on these things. The Instafire packets are pretty awesome. They are about a buck a crack on amazon, but you can light the entire packet, and they are eco friendly. I believe the packet is of corn sugar and wood pulp. Light the packet, put your chimney on top and it will give you about 15 minutes burn time. They also make fire satrters. So make sure you buy charcoal starters. But they do sell the firestarters by the bucket if that's your thing....

I just use pieces of old KBB bags for fire starting in the chimney. Recycling...

I'm at $0.09 per fire. I know folks that are about $0.07.

I;m at a loss, I can't get anything less than a dime to burn long enough to light the coals.

Here is the link. Wasn't sure if it was cool to do that or not. I get the cost. But it is a lot less smoky than the paper I use. I live in an association, so it can become an issue. https://www.instafire.com/

Not sure how the Instafire (contains paraffin, wood chips, and volcanic rock) at $18 for 18 starters could be superior to the Weber Firestarters (pure paraffin, no smoke, no residue) at $4.00 for 24 starters ...

I am really cheap, really. I go to a local fast food restaurant & take a section of newspaper on the way out. Bring it home & use about 2 sheets per chimney. I bought 2 boxes of matches a few years ago, don't know exactly, but more than three. Still working on those matches. I'm probably down to about 20-40 matches. It's a little quest to see how many cooks I can do consecutively with one match. 16 cooks is my record. I am really, really cheap. Cannot even get myself to by one of those needle lighters, cuz they cost more than a box of matches. 9 cents a cook, try less than a penny, then maybe again the cost might shoot up to 1or 2 cents on a windy day. I used 3 on a cook last week. String now on one match is 3 cooks. I am really cheap, oh, I think I said that.

They use to put a "free" classified paper in everyone's PO Box. 99.99999% of them went in the trash and many of those went home with me. Key phrase- "use to"

Still do here, that's another source to go along with my supply of matches. 4$, 18$?, I would be about 112 years old at that cost, just thinkin. 🙃
