    seasoning my carbon steel wok bbq style

    received a new cs wok for my birthday and got some time finally to season it so I could start using it. being I a in the woods with no gas appliances not thinking electric would do much good dusted off the weber chimney filled it full of some competition briquettes and went to town took maybe 40 minutes to do the entire surface being it is still cold here but least I can start doing some stir fry again Click image for larger version

            Wish you would have shown this sooner. I took my new wok, scrubbed it then oil and into the oven. Had to turn all ceiling and exhaust fans in the house on to keep the smoke detectors from going off. Lol

              Sorry got it 2 weeks ago on my birthday then forgot to bring it back with me, I really wished I was able to do it sooner as well

              customtrim , that is one of the best first seasonings I've seen. I had one carbon steel pan come out like that using Flax Seed Oil in the oven but the durability was terrible. What did you use for seasoning and how is it holding up?

                7x57mm it is holding up great just vegetable oil i am thinking about running it again i have some matchlight charcoal that came with the used weber that creates a ferno in the chimney
