So now that I have a vacuum sealer rather than filling up that thread with supplies and accessories needed, I thought I'd start a new one to gather info on items to go with it...
MBMorgan provided this link in the other thread on commercial replacement bags that he uses
As far as bags go, I find that I rarely use the smaller ones that come in the variety pack sold at Costco. I haven't tried any other brands but I have a couple of boxes full of small assorted pre-sized bags. I'm likely going to order what MBMorgan and/or Atalanta posted when I need a refill.
I do have the mason jar adaptors, and a marinade bowl I use more for storage because it works and I don't marinade. Years ago I had the canisters they did not work always lost the seal. The jar adaptors work great for your dry rubs and BBQ sauces
customtrimAtalanta I just ordered a couple of the jar adapters. It took me a few minutes to realize you only need one each and you just buy mason jars separately. I thought you needed 1 adapter for one jar which seemed pretty expensive @$8-10 per... Thanks!
customtrim When you say canisters are you referring to the Foodsaver containers with the built in adapters?
I believe so it was a set of 3 I got them and they would loose the seal very shortly. Best one I have that works is the one made for marinating it seems to hold for a long time
I have those canisters and they always hold a good vacuum for a very long time. If they are Food Saver brand I would call them to complain about it, they have a very good customer service so they might send you free replacements.
Thanks vandy. I'd be curious if anyone has any of the new containers and if they work? It looks like the newer ones are clear topped vs. the white tops.
Yeah, I saw those when I was looking up the link to the canisters and they do look very nice, I will probably end up getting a couple of them just to find out how they compare to what I have but I do like the round ones and they have worked great for me.
