I am planning on getting a meat grinder and would love some recommendations on which one(s) work best. I'm probably leaning on the manual kind cause a $400 electric one is not in my budget. Thanks for all of your advice...
Do you have a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer? If you do there is a meat grinder that fits onto the front. I have that and like it a lot. I don't do that much at any given time but it works very well.
Wanted a good quality one that would last. Not planning on doing any massive amounts at one time. Just wanted to be able to grind some meat to make my own "steak burgers" for a family of 5 and make some sausage here and there.
Equipment:
'88 Vintage Fire Magic gasser with over 4000 cooks to its credit
Large Big Green Egg
18 Inch Weber Kettle (Rescued from neighbor's trash)
Rotisserie for 18 inch kettle
Dyna Glo propane smoker
Pit Barrel Cooker
Smokey Joe with mini WSM mod
Garcima paella burner
Anova Sous Vide
Slaiya Sous Vide (gift)
LEM grinder, sausage stuffer and meat slicer (all gifts)
I've had a LEM #8 Countertop Grinder for over 3 years now. It works well for the quantities that I do (<20 pounds usually). The refurbished one (that's what I bought) is less than $100.
