I ordered some new BBQ gloves the other day. The black pair is from Artisan Griller. They are food handling gloves. i was tired of burning my self while taking butts and briskets off the smoker. The previous pairs I had were those large orange gloves that were slippery, bulky and clumsy. These are much tighter and actually give you some dexterity.
The other gloves are Lohas oven gloves. They say they are rated to 900 F + which I highly doubt is even close to being accurate. They are tight for my big old hands and the glove only covers the immediate wrist. Unlike the Pit Mitt which covers up to the lower arm. I am a little disappointed in that but I will see how the work. Sometimes the longer glove like the Pitt Mitt is a pain to get on in a hurry. I got the oven gloves to handle my cast iron while seasoning. My Pitt Mitts are being left at my Dad's place so I have them there when I do cooks at his place.
I will report back when I have used both of these. The oven gloves will get used tonight while doing some seasoning on a few pans. And the food gloves will get some action this weekend when I do a PB cook.
