I've been using Cuisinart food processors for a few decades. They've all been trouble free. Friends have had Kitchen Aids and they've been fine. Personally, I'd stick with either of those brands.
I love my Cuisinart one it has the heavier duty motor and the ten year warranty. Only thing is a week ago I heard they were being recalled due to the metal blade breaking only the model with the blade having 4 rivets holding it together. Mine is not a 10 or 12 cup 7 I believe but it has never once given me any problems I would buy another
We have a Cuisinart food processor, but rarely use it for dough. We also have an Electrolux Kitchen Asistant mixer - that's what we use for dough. Motor is heavier-duty. So you may want to look into a good stand mixer (Electrolux, KitchenAid, or a "planetary") if dough is the main object of its attention.

ATK and CR both recommend the 14 cup Cuisinart. We just had to pick up one to replace a KA that had its motor burn out (maybe 12-ish years old). Only used the new one once, but so far it seems quite sturdy. $180 on Amazon; $200 at Bed, Bath and Beyond--$160 with the 20% coupons they send out.

cooks Illustrated did a wonderful video of their testing of food processors. they give you an excellent shot of the machines doing what a particular brand and gave the results. for some reason, there are, something like 18 or so different trials. they looked at seriously good machines in day to day use. Watch this video. they may een do somethings in their test that you hadn't considered but which might also inspire you to try a new recipe!
I have the 14 cup Cuisinart and it works OK. I got the new "die cast" model and it's a disaster. Replaced with a Magimix from Robot Coupe, who made the original cuisinart, and its great. WS used to sell them and I think they still offer them online, but are no longer in stores.
None of them made dough to suit me. For that I use the KA stand mixer.
