My dad has converted two gas grills to charcoal. He really enjoys smoking on them. I am looking for some ideas that I can get him for Christmas that he can use. I have already given him a Maverick thermometer and I have already got a instant read thermometer for him. He likes his current setup so a new grill isn't really an option.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Meathead was selling regional bbq sauce packages. Not sure of a link for that. Also, pit membership, or the amazingribs.com aprons. I like Oarkridge rubs sampler - oakridgebbq.com
I'm planning on a smoking / grilling grab bag of items. I've bought meatheads book but have been reading it and want to keep it for myself. Might have to go buy another copy. I'm planning on including an assortment of rubs to include a batch of Memphis dust, which has become my personal favorite.
Peace Love & BBQ by Mike and Amy Mills is a great read and one of my favorite BBQ books. Lots of great stories from interviews with barbque legends and trips to BBQ staples around the county. Plenty of recipes too.
I often go through the reviews tab and trawl the different categories and sections to come up with ideas.
