    Vacuum Bags

    Hi all,

I have scanned a bunch of threads form the past regarding replacement bags for a FoodSaver. I can't seem to nail down an actual name of bags that folks have had decent luck with, (other than expensive FS brand bags). Does anybody have a link for bags you have used and are happy with? There are quite a few on Amazon that state, "commercial quality." but I have heard that one before. Any ideas?

I've had excellent results with these also:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ag=amazi0a8-20

Much less expensive than the FS brand, too!

Shane Rakow - Sometimes consistency is a good thing (not so much if you saw my golf swing )

Shane Rakow foodsaver has BOGO on bags, may be worth it! http://www.foodsaver.com/food-storag...ags-and-rolls/

Just make sure they're called "channelled bags". That means that have the inner sleeve with perforations needed by the FS.

I just got these for my dad and he says they work good: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ag=amazi0a8-20
Site says that they are no longer available, but I just got them a week ago.

I got some rolls of the bags from ebay and they work great. They are the textured bags that FS sells but in rolls of 50 ft. The only thing I do extra is double seal them, in other words heat seal them twice on the same spot.

I've had better luck with the Weston rolls than the Foodsaver, they seem a little tougher when sealing pork chops and other meats with bones.

I too have the "Commercial Bargains" brand that Mbmorgan linked through Amazon, but I have the two-different 50' rolls here https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ag=amazi0a8-20

As mentioned FoodSaver is currently having Buy 1 Get 1 on their rolls and their vacuum zipper bags. This includes GameSaver which are the exact same bags for the record.

I've had good luck with the rolls & bags from here. Also where I got my sealer. Some Google action can find you a current coupon code for bags / rolls.

Even with the BOGO offered by Foodsaver, the Commercial Bargains rolls are half the price of the FS. Look at the cost per foot. I didn't do a comparison for the other links.

I use the Food saver resealable bags. (ziplock top) then just wash them out in between uses they last a good long time for me. I use SV to reheat my chunks of Brisket (45 min at 160 F) they do that wonderful and then seal right back up waiting for the next use. FS had a buy one get one free a few months back and I took advantage of that! I should be good for bags for 6 months at least.

I've bought these before and will be getting them again. I had a few bags fail, but the foodsaver was on its last legs (after a very great fall).
