    Small commercial meat slicer

I'm seriously looking to purchase a meat slicer. I'd love to be able to deli slice my briskets, pastrami's, etc. for sandwich meats to take for lunch. I'd also like to be able to slice bulk cheese down into sandwich slices as well.
It seems there is a gap between home units and commercial units.

I'd really love to know of any quality smaller commercial units or hear any recommendations. So far I'm looking at some 12" used Hobart etc on Craigslist. The problem is the real estate it will take up on the counter. A quality smaller 10" with small footprint could possibly be the ticket.

Thanks for any and all input!! Cheers

I bought the Chefs Choice 615 from Amazon and am happy with it. I've sliced bulk cheese, brisket, cured and smoked pork belly for bacon, bulk deli meats, and a cucumber just because I wanted to slice something. It works well and meets my needs. I looked at used commercial slicers but went with this one. Sorry no link, can't figure it out on my phone.

Was looking into getting a small slicer myself, loved to turn smoked bottom roast into Italian beef, but without thin slicing the meat to rest in au jus its almost not worth it, here's the one AZRedneck mentioned in his post: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0058VCYWS/?tag=amazi0a8-20, there is a model below it, as well as some other comparable models.

I think this is a well written article. It does have the Chefs Choice 615 as one of its recommended models, listed as sort of the budget alternative to the commercial grade ones. I have a small slicer that I burned out trying to slice cheese, which seems like is the hardest thing on a slicer's motor.

The Chef Choice units get great reviews and have definitely been at the top of my list. I've been hammering at this all day now....what are vacations for anyhow..lol.
        I made an offer
on a used Globe GC10 ChefMate slicer. We shall see.
Its a compact medium duty commercial slicer that has a reasonable footprint and will not cripple me from lifting it.
        Cheers.

Thanks GadjetGriller. Turns out my low bid was accepted. I should see the unit by December. I very much appreciate everyone's advice. We shall see if I made a wise choice. Cheers
