Anyone ever us a Brisket Quick Fat Trimmer?

It looks interesting and had good reviews. I was curious if anyone had ever used one?

I would need a few guinea pigs (who also can't synthesize their own Vitamin C) to see how long it takes for that dude to get dull, and how much replacement blades costeth (notice the "eth, as in "they continue to cost")

Looks interesting. That said I just got a new boning knife that is sharp as anything and does a great job....

Looks like a solution desperately seeking a problem to me. Someone posted this a while ago, link to their website and I looked at their demo video. My opinion stands.

Heck, if you're buying and cooking packer brisket presumably you own a sharp knife and have some knowledge of how to use it, right? It's not like Joe Blow walks into the megamart knowing diddly-squat about cooking and leaves with a packer, right?

Or maybe that's their target market. I'm definitely getting too old....

I kinda want a Rollie just to see the looks on peoples' faces when the egg starts coming out!

I have the bear claws and use them all the time for pulling meat. Yes a fork works, but those claws are like 4 forks in each hand.

I've seen butchers use them before when I was fixing walk-in coolers.

I wonder if a cheese slicer (the type with a wire) would do the same thing.

              Not sharp/sturdy enough.

I like the concept. Could save some time when prepping multiple hunks of meat, and trimming is easily my least favorite part of cooking.

ME too. Why I was intrigued. For $25 I may pick one up and see.

Had to laugh. I asked for and received the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker as a Christmas Gift- and we LOVE it! Makes the best "Egg McMuffin" ever. While I am a huge Alton Brown fan, I disagree with him on that one.

I think it might take a while to get the feel of that thing. I don't see how it speeds anything up. Brisket should not be rushed. It is art, particularly the preparation. I love the process of using my cleaver and a filet knife and the control I have with each. But if you try it and like it that is all that matters!

I could see it for folks who do catering/restaurant volume. Maybe. But for home use and 1-2 briskets at a time, not so much.

that makes sense. If I had to trim 30 briskets at a time, I would be looking for whatever saves a few seconds.

Do it!!!!! You flying yet? I haven't seen anything on the news, so I figured you must still be in the classroom........

hey buddy! I'm gonna do it! Flying but not soloing yet, still too much to learn to snap photos in the cockpit. BBQ seems like multitasking, flying is next level! Spending 4-5 days a week either flying or in the classroom.

been BBQing a little though, we ended up doing pretty well at the Santa Anita BBQ Comp (15th overall, 2nd ribs, 15th Brisket) out of 80 teams and I am taking Steph Franklin (Simply Marvelous) class in a couple weeks!
